Kentucky Swimming is a Local Swimming Committee (KYLSC) member of USA Swimming, the national governing board for the sport of competitive swimming in the United States.

The geographic Territory of Kentucky Swimming is the State of Kentucky, except Campbell, Kenton and Boone Counties and includes Clark and Floyd Counties in Indiana. 

The KYLSC is a non-profit organization made up of individual (athlete, coach, athlete and non-athlete) and group
(club or affiliated) members.  The objectives and primary purpose of Kentucky Swimming is:

The education, instruction and training of individuals to develop and improve their capabilities in the sport of swimming.  Kentucky Swimming shall promote swimming for the benefit of swimmers of all ages and abilities, in accordance with the standards, rules, regulations, policies and procedures of FINA, USA Swimming, and Kentucky Swimming and its Articles of Incorporation.

The KYLSC is operated in accordance with a set of
By-Laws by 3 organizations:

House of Delegates

A body of representatives of all group members, the Board of Directors, and separate coach, athlete and at-large representatives.  This body nominally meets twice a year, and is charged with overall management of LSC business.

Board of Directors

A committee of elected, appointed and ex-officio officers, representatives and committee chairs charged with day-to-day operation and management of the LSC.

Board of Review

A committee of elected members charged with review and adjudication of complaints, protests and appeals regarding the administration and operation swimming within the jurisdiction of the LSC.
